Article 166 — Prohibition of Trade by the Lessor

1/ During the currency of the contract of lease, the owner of the business may not compete with the lessee by creating, buying or otherwise acquiring a business having similar objects. 2/ Where the owner disregards the prohibition provided in Sub-Article (1) of this Article, he shall be liable for damages and his business may be closed.
