Article 693 — Drawing of Cheque without Cover.

(1) Whoever intentionally draws a cheque without cover or knows that there will not be full cover at the time of presentment for payment, is punishable with simple imprisonment, or according to the gravity of the case, with rigorous imprisonment not exceeding ten years, and fine. (2) Where the act is committed negligently, the punishment shall be fine, or simple imprisonment not exceeding one year.
