Article 591 — Substitution of an Infant for Another and Taking

Away of an Infant belonging to Another.
(1) Whoever intentionally:
a) substitutes an infant for another; or
b) takes away, claiming to be his, an infant who was not born of him, is punishable with rigorous imprisonment not exceeding seven years.
(2) Where the crime is committed negligently, the punishment shall be simple imprisonment not exceeding one year.
