Article 171 — Applicationfor affixing of seals

(1) An application for the affixing of seals may be made to any court by any person who satisfies the court, by afTtdavit or otherwise, that property which may be the subject of proccedinp in court should be preserved. (2) An order for the atTlxing of seals may be made at any stage of pro- ceedings in court by the court of its own motion or on appbcation. (3) On making an order for the alflxing of seals, the court shall a~ point such person (hereinafter referred to as the otTtciaI. sea1c:r) as it thinks fit to carry out such order.
