1/ Any Ethiopian citizen or foreign national
of Ethiopian origin who fulfills the
following requirements shall be granted
the Federal First Instance Court
Advocacy License:-
a) has graduated with a first degree in
law from a recognized Ethiopian
Higher Education Institution and has
a minimum of three years of
professional experience in the field
of law; or has graduated with
diploma in law and has a minimum
of five years of professional
experience in the field of law;
b) has passed the entrance qualification
examination set for the particular
type of advocacy license;
c) produces evidence, from his
immediate past employer, that
certifies that he had not been
subjected to grave disciplinary
measures for violation of serious
misconduct in the two years prior to
departure; and
d) Produce a certificate of good conduct
from his immediate past employer.
2/ Notwithstanding the provisions of Sub-
Article
(1) paragraph
(a) of this Article,
a Federal First Instance Court Advocacy
License may be granted to a person who
graduated with first degree in law from
a recognized foreign Higher Education
Institution and has a minimum of five
years of professional experience in the
field of law in Ethiopia and fulfills the
other requirements listed under Sub-
Article
(1) of this Article.
