Article 29 — Procedure after arrest.

Article text
(I) Where the accused has been arrested by the police or a private person and handed over to the police (Art. 58), the police shall bring him before the nearest court within fortyeight hours of his arrest or so soon thereafter as local circumstances and communications pennit. The time taken in the journey to the court shall not be included.
(2) The court before which the accused is brought may make any order it thinks fit in accordance with the provisions of Art. 59
